Professor Steven Brown

Professor of Health and Organisational Psychology

Biography

Professor Brown’s work develops an expanded view of how the psychological is embedded within social practices and organized settings, with a particular focus on mental health and wellbeing. He seeks to produce conceptually rich engaged research that is grounded in the lived experience of participants and collaborators.

Steve is Professor of Health and Organizational Psychology in the Department of Management.

He is Academic Director of the NBS DBA programme, where he has a lead role in the application of the School’s research strategy and teaching and learning strategy at PGR level.

Before joining NTU, Steve held Professorships at The Open University and the University of Leicester, and lectured at Loughborough University and Keele University. His PhD and first degree are from the University of Reading.

Steve is currently Visiting Professor at London South Bank University and has held visiting positions in The Netherlands and Denmark.

He has taught doctoral and undergraduate courses in a wide number of countries across Europe, Africa and Asia.

In the course of his career, Steve has supervised over twenty PhD students to completion, and examines doctorates internationally.
