Biography

Registered Mental Nurse at Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust, with over 40 years’ experience in Forensic Health care settings, stretching across High \ Medium \ Low Secure facilities. Various lead roles across services including Operational in-patients \ Security\ Project Management \ Risk \ Fire, Health & Safety \ Environmental risk.  Most recently in the Multi Award winning Mersey Care Project Team in the DiMH awards as Clinical Lead for Design and Build for new builds at Rowan View (123 Bed Medium Secure Hospital) and Aspen Wood (40 Bed Low Secure Hospital), as well as Clinical & Operational Lead for the service on both projects at Maghull Health Park. Integral to the role was leading the services in liaison with external stakeholder events to assure Secure standards of care were delivered, whilst embracing the innovation and technological developments that future proofs our environments. Overseen many of the upgrading and improvements around Anti-Ligature standards, and better-quality safer environments for service users, that Mersey Care have delivered across their Secure Division in the past 10-15 years. Also, a quality reviewer for the Royal College of Psychiatry in the national annual peer review process that they oversee.
