Biography

After a lifetime of good physical and mental health Richard says “things started to go sharply downhill’ and he found himself having to engage with care in the mental health ‘system’ . Reflecting later on that care led Richard to become an ‘Expert by Experience’ for the Sussex Partnership and he is now a member of the Assurance Board for the build of a state of the art mental health hospital in Combe Valley , Bexhill, Sussex. He brings previous national and international public sector change management life experience (alongside his ‘lived’ experience) and also mentors new Experts by Experience.
He regularly facilitates training sessions at Sussex University for trainee therapists alongside being a member of the East Sussex Lived Experience Advisory Group.
