Corporate & Capital Development

Hugh Baird College

Having previously worked in the Catering industry and then part time at two other colleges I joined Hugh Baird College as a full-time lecturer.  I progressed through various roles, including Head of School, to the position of Director of Estates and Resources in 2006, and then to the post of Vice Principal-Estates and Resource Development. More recently, my role has changed to Corporate and Capital Development. My main area of responsibility is Capital Estates Development, including major refurbishment projects as well as new building developments, this will include external venues and facilities. In addition, I also have responsibility for the Estates team and Health and Safety across College.

My role allows me to look at new funding opportunities and new partnership arrangements, working across all areas of the College to support Business Planning in respect of physical resource requirements.  The Heat Hub project was a direct result of partnership working and applying for and being successful in gaining £3.9m from the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority to develop the St Winefrides Campus working alongside MerseyCare NHS Trust to provide much needed drop-in facilities for the local community and College students and staff.
