Nigel Mason




Nigel is a Chartered Building Surveyor and the current chair of the RICS West Midlands Regional Board.  He is a Director of NMC Ltd and offers project management, property and construction consultancy and expert witness work.

He has experience in public, PPP and private sectors including education, health, commercial, retail, custodail, local and central government.

He has specific PFI experience adding value to the various stakeholders’ interests in these complex challenging contracts. Wider experience in the industry gives access to development solutions to surplus land and buildings for clients to help maximise the returns whether they be capital reciepts or income generating schemes.

He was part of a sub group following the Dame Judith Hackett Review following the Grenfell Fire looking at a review of the Approved Documents. He has also advised private clients as an expert witness and giving expert evidence to the Land Tribunal at The Royal Courts of Justice.

Nigel is a RICS Media spokesperson and a judge for the RICS Social Impact Awards.

He is currently juggling work and family commitments in lockdown by working split shifts with his wife and providing nursery duties for his 3 year old daughter. Fee earning at the moment is project managing remedial fire safety works to a PFI hospital building in Sheffield for Kajima Construction Europe and  supporting REAMS UK Ltd in asset management services for clients including Nat West Bank, Twickenham Stadium and Royal Hospital Chelsea as well as advising Highways England on various technical property matters.
