Biography

Mathew is a mental health nurse with 20 years of clinical leadership experience. Early in his career, he completed pioneering research into technology use in mental health, contributing to a Master’s in Psychiatry. A passionate advocate for nature-based approaches, he led a successful national pilot with NHS England and Natural England, showing the value of nature connection in service delivery. He has extensive experience in inpatient settings and regularly writes and speaks on mental health. Mathew is also co-author of the Design chapter in the third edition of the Psychiatric Intensive Care Handbook.
