Biography

Karen is a Chartered Landscape Architect with over 35 years’ experience. She is currently Managing Director of Iteriad, a landscape architecture practice specialising in the design of outdoor spaces for mental healthcare and healthcare environments. Karen’s particular expertise is creating sensory spaces that focus on touching nature and that capture a special sense of place across all mental health settings. She is passionate about design that enhances the journey through the landscape, as a positive experience for users/patients, and that connect the user to place. Recently completed mental healthcare projects include Aspen Wood in Maghull Health Park with North View in Manchester and Dorothy Pattison Hospital in Walsall due to be complete later this year.  Karen was previously Landscape Director with BDP based in Manchester.
