Jake Gearheard

President

TrimTabs Consulting Inc.

Jake brings over thirty years of experience working across Canada, the United States, and South America on collaborative, community-led projects. For more than two decades, he has lived and worked in Nunavut, Canada, supporting innovative, Inuit-led programs and organizations.

As Executive Director of the Ilisaqsivik Society in Clyde River for over fourteen years, Jake worked closely with Inuit leaders, counsellors, and Elders to co-design the first accredited Inuit counsellor training program. He also helped establish Nunavut’s first Inuit-led crisis response teams and led the creation of Ilisaqsivik’s social enterprise—the Naujaaraaluit Hotel—from concept to construction, business model and operations.

Through his firm, TrimTabs Consulting, Jake and his team have partnered with Inuit organizations, territorial and federal governments, wellness agencies, and non-profit organizations to co-design and implement the Addictions and Trauma Treatment System for Nunavut. This initiative includes the construction of a 24-bed Aqqusariaq Recovery Centre, community-based land programs, and the development of an Inuit wellness workforce—engaging more than 100 individuals and organizations.

Today, Jake continues to support community-led projects in wellness, social enterprise, sustainable development, and environmental stewardship—bringing his greatest strength to the work: connecting cultures, people, and organizations to build a better future together.
