Biography
Helen specialises in Healthcare design and has worked with Trusts on a number of community facilities including a series of Derby and Leicester LIFT new build projects, Kidbrooke Health Facility, Wednesbury Healthcare Centre, Neptune Health Park and Bilston Health Centre.
Helen has a close involvement in projects at all stages and enjoys the challenge of schemes having a strong emphasis on design and innovation. Design is of particular interest to Helen and she strives to ensure good quality in all aspects from overall design to final details. Helen is able to do this successfully by developing projects from initial strategic stages with the client, to realisation and matching clients expectations, ensuring a quality solution, which is patient/ user led and accessible to all.
Helen has been able to apply her enthusiasm for high quality design to assist with Healthcare projects across the country as a Design Quality DQI Accredited Assessor by facilitating Design Quality Indicator (DQI) workshops.
Due to her technical and architectural background and good knowledge of legislation and guidance she is able to apply her knowledge at all stages of the project to ensure projects run smoothly and the clients high expectations are met in completed buildings.
Helen joined Design Buro in 2001, as a Technologist having completed her HNC. It became clear that she had significant talent and completed her degree in architecture part-time at University of Birmingham. This involved imposing a strict work and study programme, which she addressed head on and completed her professional qualification in 2007. This is a clear demonstration of her dedication and tenacity.
During her time with Design Buro, Helen has gained extensive experience in a broad range of award winning health projects, where she has been lead designer on a number of schemes and followed projects through from initial client meeting to managing the projects on site.
