Biography

Deanna is a passionate advocate for diversity in architecture, with a distinguished career spanning Canada, the US, Bermuda, Australia, East Africa, and the UK. As a design principal at Stantec’s Toronto office, she has dedicated the last 25 years to creating inclusive and supportive spaces for vulnerable communities. Her focus on mental health, palliative care, rehabilitation, complex continuing care, and long-term supportive housing has led to transformative and award-winning projects such as the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health Phase 1C, Stella’s Place Young Adult Mental Health Centre, Wexford Creek Campus of Care, and Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital.

Deanna’s commitment to giving back is evident through her active mentorship of emerging architects. She is a founding member of the Ontario chapter for Women@Stantec, participates in BEAT programming, critiques at the Azrieli and Daniels Architecture faculties, and curates the Stantec Window Gallery.
