Biography

Ciaran is a mental health nurse from Dublin, Ireland currently living and working in Galway in Practice Development. He has extensive experience working in the mental health sector in both the independent and public sector. Ciaran has a keen interest in reducing restrictive practices in mental health care and creating safe environments of care.

Having completed the Masters Programme in Digital Health Transformation in 2022, Ciaran has sought to introduce technological innovations to his practice area, creating a series of podcasts to assist staff education and using virtual reality nature immersion for service users as an alternative to traditional relaxation experiences.

Ciaran is a keen open water swimmer and runner. He believes in the restorative effects of nature and its benefits for mental health care provision.
