Biography

Tony is people person passionate about setting new levels of environmental safety within mental health care environments. During a 35 year career within the NHS as a registered mental health nurse, senior lecturer practitioner specialising in the prevention and management of violence, suicide prevention and mental health nursing education Tony developed and delivered degree level curriculum, training programmes and competency frameworks and undertook many post incident / service reviews, policy development and route cause analysis.

Since retiring from the NHS in 2017 after 35 years in nursing. Tony joined the private sector as Sales Director for Anti-Ligature Shop. In addition to designed and co-developed a wide range of ligature resistant products from safe wall clocks, bedside lights, shower seats etc, he and his colleagues have developed new ways to identify environmental weaknesses. Our services have been in demand from a wide range of NHS care providers to review environments for ligature resistance, and examine the collective capability of care providers using a whole systems approach.
