Deborah Payne

From the age of 3 Deborah knew she wanted to be a nurse and after a 27 year career in the NHS, starting as a student nurse and working her way up to Divisional Nurse Manager, she decided to focus her long term passion on a more holistic approach to nursing in the private sector. With a BSc Hons degree in Adult Nursing, nursing older people was a natural progression, and eventually she became home manager at Whittle Hall, a 74 bed luxury care residence specialising in dementia care, where she believes no matter what your job title everything that is done for residents should be thought of as an activity.

Under Deborah’s management Whittle Hall came; runner up in the Best Care Home of the Year category at the Care Home Awards 2019, was a finalist in two categories at the same awards in 2018 awards for best Interior Design and Best Specialist Care and, had a double win at the Design in Mental Health Awards 2018 for Art Installation of the Year and Best Collaborative Estate and Facilities Team Project for their unique dementia plus facility.  (188)
